A dedicated husband, father, author, clinician, and motivator, He is passionate about empowering lives through the Word of God and the transformative power of the Holy Spirit.
He is the loving husband of Letisha Scott, his bride of over twenty-five years, and together they are the proud parents of eleven natural children and countless spiritual sons and daughters across the globe.
Marcus Scott’s journey in ministry began at the tender age of ten when he was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of the late Bishop Fred Cobb, Jr. of the Church of God and True Holiness (C.O.G.A.T.H) in Durham, NC. By the age of fourteen, he accepted his call to preach and delivered his initial sermon, “Called at an Early Age!,” on January 2, 1994.
He faithfully served in many roles within the ministry—including Sunday School Teacher for both youth and adults, President of the Young People’s Union, and various other leadership capacities. In 2000, he was ordained to the office of Elder and founded C.O.G.A.T.H. of Knightdale, laying the foundation for what would later become The Way Church.
In 2017, after divine prompting, he changed the name of the ministry to The Way Church, signifying a fresh direction and renewed vision.
In June 2022, during the annual Christian Covenant Fellowship of Ministries (CCFM) Conference, Overseer Scott aligned himself under the apostolic covering of Bishop Michael A. Blue, Sr. and Pastor Malinda Tarte-Blue, demonstrating humility, wisdom, and spiritual maturity.
In February 2023, after much prayer and wise counsel, Overseer Scott accepted the charge to become the Senior Pastor and Overseer of The Way Church International Fellowship of Ministries – further expanding his global impact.
He is a living testament that "you can be kept if you want to be kept" and boldly proclaims that “living a holy life is the best life!”
He is the author of "The Acts Kind of Church" and is currently writing more books.
